The update should have the follow items included:
- Horizontal display for SMS and Email
- Theme's (Like we know when we Jailbreak them)
- Copy/Paste
- Notifications (Push) for applications

Great stuff Simon. I use BigKeyMail and TouchType for the Horizontal view on emails...

Email is the new MMS, come into the real world... Only messing Mike good point but most phones now have email on and look at the new ones coming out from Google, Blackberry and the other PDA's.

Yes I agree but still not everyone wants Email on their phones! Email could be the new Text too BUT everyone still needs to be able to receive texts!

Email on the telephone is the "always connected" idea that was peddled some years ago. Remember, data is an integral part of the GSM Backbone therefore costs the network almost nothing as needs to be there anyway.
SMS, MMS and Email are all cash cows. Not cost a lot and has to be there as part of the system

Maybe firmware 2.2.1 comes first and then sometime after Mac World will be the 2.3 firmware if the rumours are more correct then simply just rumours

Watch for the new iphone Nano, and also the new ipod shuffle, this has the ability to also rx emails and send them, looked like a big USB stick.
