Use your Iphone as a walky talky

Are there any iphone users here like me Well if there is then head to the apps store and download the walky talky app called walkie talkie. Can be used with wlan and also 3g this enables walkie talkie comms between users and even allows some conference call facilities too.

Need make a name and then its on air and away, works with iphones and also ipod touch with internet connection.

I will give it another go Simon. I think the program has to be running all the time which is a shame cos the battery wouldn't last two mins...

Sure it does eat the battery a bit. Which version of the iphone you got Dave? the 3g or the other one

I got the old one but not too fussed about the 3g till the camera gets upgraded... Shame they didn't add mobile broadband but again it was a battery eater... Mike has the 3G though

Sure the 3g has some excellent stuff with it but the camera is not the best. The new battery with the 3g can allow mobile broadband but the phone in my opinion would need some extra features to make it more efficient.

The new 2.2 firmware does a lot with the battery life on the 3g and also cures many troubles that were with the older pre 2.1 software also.

They need a lot more work, but like them so far and had the first one before christmas a year ago

It's great though owning one because when there is a new firmware we iPhone users get it also so it make the phone like new again. It's quite funny when you do something on the iPhone and there is a new option. At least we know there are people working on stuff thats important in the background.

I have MobileMe and a MacBook pro so I'm into mac now. I use iWeb for the website and thats why I changed it... I wont be having a BT line nor Broadband next month due to costs so I can do the website stuff at home and upload it at my Mum's or use the McDonalds hotspot.
