Well I did it and am pleased to say I made 36 contacts in 3 hours on 2m FM and the furthest contact was Devon.

Thank you to everyone for the patience contacting me in my first SOTA activation.

Nope Simon but I hope to do it again this Thursday if it's not raining :-) and will take the camera this time :-). I wanna try my FT-857 out with the sota beam and last time I did it I had the FT-817. Bigger radio and a smaller slab I think to counter the weight out :-).... I took a 12a battery last year, this year I will take the 7a and leave a spare in the car as there is another summit across the way... Just depends on how tired I get hee hee

Everything is packed and ready to go :-). Just need some sleep as I'm up at 08.00 and plan to be at the carpark for 09.00 and spend the day up there. I am taking 2 7a SLAB so that should keep the station running for a few hours ;-)

Thanks Andy for the contact. I have uploaded my log on my website and will be uploading it to the SOTA site later.

I made 26 contacts just playing on 2M FM.

Steve GW7AAV was on GW/NW-051 which was next to my activation and he was working most bands. I'll have to make a linked dipole for HF before next time...
