Anyone else into scanning ?

Post by daxi on Sun Feb 03, 2008 7:52 pm

I got into scanning many many years ago when scanners first became available. And still have a 10 channel Uniden XL50 from that time. It has no band scan just 10 channels to listen to Shocked Shocked Shocked
Currently I use a Uniden 3500 with close call. A Realistic 2006 base scanner, a ancient Realistic 200 channel handy that my daughter currently uses & an Alinco DJ-X3.
Personally I'll listen to anything but taxi drivers.

Anyone else into scanning ?

Post by 2W0PWR on Sun Feb 03, 2008 8:23 pm

Well Alan,

I have the Yupiteru MVT-7100 Scanner in the back of the cupboard. Its very complicated to use and is quite chunky!!! I don't use it much but will get it out and start to use it again...

Hi daxi
I have an Icom ICR-2 scanner.I don't use it all that much now apart from holidays to listen to marine bands etc.It is also good for sprog hunting coverage from 30khz to 1300 mhz no gaps.

Yep, I'm into scanning.

I still have most of the gear I started with. AOR 2002, AOR1000, AOR900, and an Icom IC-R100.

Because of the age of my gear, finding new frequencies with the slow scan rate can take a while. But I try.

Marine band should be good there.
Air band.
Try the local amateur repeaters.
