has anyone dealt with low receive on this rig, the rf gain is not working at all

Having done a goggle. It seems that this is a Albrecht AE 497 & that it comes in 2 models. An early 12 watt radio with fixable inbuilt problems & a 25 watt versions.
Have you checked the microphone? Wire 2 effects RX.
Also given the weather of late, has the radio been left connected & damaged if not by a local strike, then by static build up?
