hi guys is it possible to position a center fed wire such as a g5rv or a windom in a L shape configuration

Short answer yes.
The longer answer involves talking about compromises & other such irrelevant stuff. But yes & it is the only way many can do so. It is worth noting that there are shorter antennas than those mentioned above that are variations of those mentioned,m these are called inductive dipoles & can be found on ebay & also if you like 20 meters & up, a short windom designed to be resonant on 20 meters, 10 & 6 meters should work fairly well for you.

It depends upon what space you have. My home situation is VERY poor. I do have photo's on here of my situation & as a result I use a Diamond CP-6. Many hate these antennas, but for me it works. My M3 licenced 12 year old daughter has worked Cornwall when others in the net were unable to due to conditions.
Unless you run individual dipoles, everything is a compromise & a G5RV despite being the most popular antenna is not the best antenna, so look at your situation, think about the compromises you need to make & then think what you can fit in.
On Special Events I either use a end fed wire or I have two trapped resonant Dipoles, one for 80, 40 & 20 & one for 40, 20 & 10. Two inductive dipoles, a windom for 40 & up & one for 80 & up that I use.
Personally if I can I either fit the Windom in, (or an off Centre Dipole if you prefer) or a resonant trapped dipole in, as I find they out perform the other antennas I have available.
For home I have tried a resonant trapped inverted L & was very impressed & may change my back up endfed for one of these.
So think about what you want to do & then if it's a buy one or make job & then look at whats available possible for you.
A trapped inverted L is a good compromise as is a dog legged OCD/windom call it what you will, but an inductive dipole may fit in nicely with no bends & work just as well for you.
One idea may be too look at space & then at a trapped & thus resonant antenna for 40 & 20 & see if you can fit one in, as it's not going to be much different in size to a G5RV or a Windom/OCD that works on 40 & a resonant antenna will be a good choice if it fits in, but at the end of the day, antennas that work well for one may not work well for most, so don't be too concerned about what others use or do.

Depends on the space you have but I would always go for a dipole cut to resonance for each band I use, but if you want commercially made then have a look at Par End fed dipoles, fantastic performance and quality but have to be bought direct from maker in USA, not expensive but UK Customs and VAT bump it up a bit. I have used one for years on low power and will not be taking it down, love it. The makers are now LnR Precision Inc.
