WIRE ANTENNA

hi guys on the look out for a good long wire antenna my garden is about 40ft long and i enjoy 20 40 and 80 meters,
any ideas ?

When you say "Long wire," I assume you mean end fed & not other configurations.
The trapped inverted L is fairly efficient. The random end fed is not too bad, efficiency wise, if you match it at the feed point. (Use a remote tuner.) And the Rubykov is an underutilised end fed.

i have looked at the half g5rv and other antennas my tuner is built into my radio a ts850 sat

If you are using a built in tuner a end fed wire is not ideal, as power lost in the Coax as a result of poor impdence match can result in massive losses.
Have a look at a Off Centre Dipole rather than a G5RV as, RV's are deaf by comparison & the OCD is designed to use the coax as part of the antenna so tend to have a very slight edge over the 5RV's.

The EZ End fed is an ideal 16 m wire fed by 1-9 balun, its coax fed to the balun and will do all HF.

If you run out of room with your 40ft (approx. 12 m.) you can run the first few metres vertical. You can also ziz zag or
L or U Shape. Very versitile. It works ALL HF Bands. I know as I use one and get really good reports.
