Goal posts for masts.

Post by daxi on Thu Nov 11, 2010 6:48 pm

A few weeks ago I wanted to check a new wire dipole out & not wanting to have a full mornings radio, I decided to walk the few hundred yards to the Community centre & throw a rope over a tree branch, but for some reason I ended up attaching a rope to each end of the antenna & stringing it up between the goal posts.
It's not the highest antenna I have ever used, but it did the job & a few weeks later I did it again with a second antenna.
If I just string the antenna up between the goals the centre feed point is only about 4 - 5 feet above the ground, but if I drive over & use my portable swagged ali mast, I get a very reasonable looking antenna & the antenna is out of the way of fingers.
