Amateur Callsigns.

Post by daxi on Wed Oct 06, 2010 12:58 pm

There is no need to have or use an amateur callsign to post on any of the pages on this forum. However, if you do use an amateur callsign could you please only do so if it is your own.
Amateurs are by nature both nosy & use to looking up the callsigns of those they have not worked or heard of before & they possibly have access to details of a callsign that you do not.
Using a callsign that is not yours as a username on a forum is not illegal, but it is not something that will add to your welcome in a positive way either.Plus if you are using the amateur bands under that callsign it could draw attention to you & that, we assume, you would rather not have.
It also makes us look bad for openly supporting what is generally seen as the pirating of a callsign.
So, just to add. All are welcome, but please no callsigns unless they are yours, as that makes both you & the forum look bad.

Well said Daxi,

It won't be accepted on this forum and if we have to ask for confirmation of the call sign and it's not produced then the user will be banned. It's to protect the users and the forum...

Regards,

Dave
