iOS 4 The New Operating System for Apple Mobile Devices

Post by 2W0PWR on Sat Jul 10, 2010 4:07 pm

I downloaded iOS 4 a few weeks ago when it was available through the iTunes on my iPhone 3G model.

First comments I have to say is it made the phone sluggish and clumpy. It really did slow the phone down. What did it give me extra on the iPhone 3G? Hmm good question cos I really can't remember :-). I think it was Folders and iBooks although iBooks was really too slow to work with. iBooks is great however cos I can have my PDF Files stored on the Bookshelf all in one place and that comes in handy for works operating manuals :-).

Ok the big one for the iOS 4 update brought Multitasking. This means that some of the Apps like TomTom can run in the background while you are running other programs or taking a call. I have TomTom and Navigon, Navigon has just released there newest version 1.6 which is compatible with iOS 4 and Multitasking this morning so I'm looking forward to trying it out.
