Hi Peter, welcome to the forum.
Is Orpington in the GB3KS reapeter area? I live in Norwich GB3NB area & it's sometimes possible to use KS to open NB. OK ignore that....Halo antenna & proper VHF radio is listed on your profile.
I am seriously thinking about removing my vertical & putting up a couple of halos, for 6 & 2 & maybe one for 4 meters as well.
