Driving back from Germany yesterday, the conversation changes to about how expensive radios are in the XYL's opinion, I'm concentrating on the road, trying to avoid a Dutch plated Ford Focus playing lane swap and I started to sell the idea of getting a FT2000 and that it was about euro2200, no response - hmm good sign I think as she didn't give the standard response of no, so I speak a bit more saying well I'd have to look at selling other radios to finance this, still no response - hmmm looking good I think.

Then I noticed that she has dozed off in the car, now as she didn't say no but was snoozing in the passenger seat, is this suffice to say I now have financial permission to purchase said radio ?

Get her licenced. It works for me, in fact she often leads the the shall we get a....As she wants to do something.

I tried to get her licenced as a M3 when we were living in the UK, but wouldnt have any of it, as she doesnt speak much Dutch, I doubt very much she'd even entertain sitting the Dutch exam.

My wife was not interested in radio, but got frustrated when I did not want to answer a call because I was driving. So just went for her foundation. That was all she wanted, just to be able to answer the odd call when out in the car, not interested in radio at all.
She is now awaiting an Advanced exam course & our 11 year old has held her M3 call for over 2 years & the 10 year old missed her foundation pass by 2 questions.
It makes a lot easier as we need LOTS of equipment so we can ALL operate.
