Mighty Moxon 2m/70cm
Mighty Moxon 2m/70cm
Bought this from Nigel M0CVO in Norwich, and a small test today and last night at home.
Tomorrow from Czech Republic near the small town of Velke Popovice JN79HW
Last Night could open a free-net link on 149mhz with the low power setting on the VX3e. Distance of 97km or 60.25miles,, so really impressive start

Do you have Nigels Mark 2 version? I know he says it's an improvement on the origional.
He operates Motorcycle portable with his Moxon on a roach rod.

Hi Daxi,
Yes have the mk1 and mk2 versions here. And also tonight another 3 were ordered for the guys here in OK land.
One of mine, a wire between the elements at the end was broken, so trying to figure how to fix it at the moment although cannot happen till am back home.
On the balcony at home, can make around 20 repeaters on 2m/70cm all with either a VX3 or 817ND so he must be doing something right.
Its nice to publicise these sort of guys in the magazine, nice there is someone who bothers with antennas. Guys here asked about a CB version also... So, who knows
Regards and Happy Easter from Prague

Made some more tests while out and about, and can make repeaters in a 360 around 178km at the furthest with a VX3e on battery power so thats a nice result indeed. I like mine, and also now 3 more ordered as lads in OK land want them now too

Re: Mighty Moxon 2m/70cm
If you are using it on repeaters are you running it vertically polarised? I have been thinking about doing that with two co-phased.
