Re: President Jackson II
Well now I have got one of these, I am struggling to get the maximum out of it. The documentation in the package was next to useless I only found out by reading a review that Simon contributed to that you get the EU bands while set on UK by changing the band to AM.
Is there somewhere I can get a better set of docs?
Also the same review staes that you do not neccessarily lose the Legal UK stuff its just a fiddly way of selecting the channels.
Simon can you pm me the details of the non soldering mod and I may even get more out of this box of tricks
Thanks,
CC

Re: President Jackson II
Hi There CC
There are two ways to make the radio have more things shall we say.
a)move a jumper and cut a wire and this way you loose legals
b) there is another mod mad here by Hans Kucha where you need press a button to get export, and then when turn off the radio is legal one more time.
Documents, then you need www.servicedocs.com and then enter President and Jackson II. There are more things there, but sadly some of the extra goodies are more hidden.

What More hidden info are you looking for, you have the channels and the power mods already from the servicedocs.
swr caliration YES its not working well when the radio has been modded, and the standard sort of S5 of noise each time is a normal thing also in FM mode.

Re: President Jackson II
My meter isn't working most of the time (99% of the time),and it doesn't matter if the switch is on RF SWR or CAL.
I suposed that the SWR meter will be declaibrated but i hoped that i will at least have the RF meter.

Sounds like you have the trouble with the finals if not moving at alll, example being NO power so will not work?

Re: President Jackson II
I don't think this is the case..i get good TX feedback all the time and it never happened to not be able to transmit but the meter doesn't work usually ,in some rare cases it works and after a time it goes back to beeing dead or moving just a milimeter.

Maybe dry solder joint then in the meter? Also a known fault on some of the radios
