Ideas for a 10 meter radio.
I have been here a couple of times before, but here goes again.
Does anyone have any ideas for a semi decent 10 meter band only radio? I'm not after a CB, I want a amateur radio for 10 meters.
I'm a little sick having just lost out on a Radio Shack HTX100 on fleabay, it still has a day to run & was at just under £90
The HTX is SSB / CW & that's USB only I believe & it does not expand for CB operation so they normally don't sell for silly CB prices, but I guess a couple of idiots thought they knew better.
Anyhow I only really want FM & USB, I would like repeater shift if possible, I would prefer VFO not channels & band scan would be good.
High power is not vital, but a 5-10 watt power setting is as I can use a cheap CB linear to get 100 watts for a few pounds.
Price wise up to £200 for a new or very good secondhand.
Any ideas?

The only one I can think of is a Belcom LS-102, great radio but as for getting ur hands on a good one I think will be a very hard task. :-)
If I remember right though they don't have a repeater shift. :-(. The one I owned had 25, 26, 27, 28 and 29 on the frequency knob and I still regret selling it 12 years on...
The only other one I can think of is a Ranger 2950 DX and this had a split freq setting on although I never needed to use it back then...

Yep the 2950DX Has a repeater shift, same as some of the Albrecht 485S depending on version, Magnum 257 version dependent, President Lincoln GOLD has repeater shift also, RCI 2970DX has the same, and indeed some of the new Magnum series RoHs when they are released also have the same repeater shift and 1750hz tone call

Re: Ideas for a 10 meter radio.
This search is not going well. I have put a few wanteds on various sites & have had a couple of offers. But everything seems to have been messed with.
I had one radio offered to me with higher power than standard that was "In as new condition"
