Did this yesterday (31st Aug '10)

http://gm7something.wordpress.com/2010/08/31/the-day-we-went-to-arran-o/

Have a look at the slideshow...

Sunny day, over 2,800ft asl. Stations worked into G, GM , GI and EI land....fantastic views.

What more can a mere mortal do to better this ?

(Note : never try anything like this when feeling under the weather LOL )

Sota....Activators and Chasers...

Are there any Sota activators or Chasers on the forum?

If any of you are interested in Sota, what particular aspect of this part of the hobby do you enjoy....Is it the buzz of getting that first answer to the 'CQ Sota', call or is the 'Shack sloth' award more appealing to you!

Both chasers and activators are equally important, as without both, an important part of the hobby would become pretty pointless.

I'd be very interested to hear any comments about your thoughts on this subject ...

Bought this from Nigel M0CVO in Norwich, and a small test today and last night at home.

Tomorrow from Czech Republic near the small town of Velke Popovice JN79HW

Last Night could open a free-net link on 149mhz with the low power setting on the VX3e. Distance of 97km or 60.25miles,, so really impressive start
