I was transmitting and the output power gradually dropped until I was unable to get to another station just down the road. Power seemed to drop off on channel 1 before channel 40

Thinking it was the output transistor I have replaced it ...

So I have a radio listening to UK19FM today ( ch 33 band F ) on the Galaxy DX95T2, channel wakes up with Scottish stations, then I start hearing what sounds like a CW signal, change the mode to USB and there is LA5TEN, the Norwegian beacon !!

Google the LA5TEN frequency, tune to it on the 480, and there it is, both signals in sync. strange me thinks, so I change the band to band G on the Galaxy and there's the beacon on ch 33 !

So my question - what do you reckon was going on here ? The ...

Having moved my entire station to another part of the shack , I find the the coax lead fead line from the G5RV is about 3 foot too short.
I do have a couple of double female PL259 connectors, but should I re-new the entire Coax lead or will making a new short patch lead and linking them up through the double female PL plug be OK ?

I have simmilar problem with my Ranger with RF feedback, but this is when I switch the echo section on (that I never use)

It screatches its head off with RF feedback. The screatch is audible through the rigs speaker !

When I TX , on say, 27:5555 MHZ USB even when I have't spoken the frequency counter will jump ro 27:557 and on RX , when I let go of the mic for RX, the RX falls to 27:554.

Does anybody have any ideas about the problemms and likely cost of fixing it.

I guess it ...
