THE fabulous Red Arrows will perform three times during Bournemouth's free four-day air festival in August.
Tens of thousands of extra visitors are now expected to attend the show following today's announcement that the display team will perform above the town's main pier three days running.
The Royal Air Force aerobatic display team is a regular visitor to the resort and always attracts hundreds of thousands of people who gather on the beach, along the cliff top and in the town's gardens.
For the last 12 years, the team's mid-August performances have come about thanks to the efforts of the Bournemouth Red Arrows Association.
Now the group, which consists of eight volunteers, has given its backing to the air show, and said it is pleased the town's links with the Red Arrows will continue.

IT will be the biggest event ever hosted by Bournemouth, it is just 24 weeks away and it's FREE.
It could also become an annual mega crowd-puller.
The four-day Bournemouth Air Festival 2008 has been formally launched and some of the spectacular attractions unveiled for the first time.
As revealed in the Daily Echo yesterday, the Red Arrows will be headlining the festival for three of the four days, Friday, Saturday and Sunday - which alone is guaranteed to be a huge draw.
But other displays set to be included in the line-up are the Eurofighter Typhoon, the RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team, Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (Spitfire, Hurricane and Lancaster) and the Black Cats Helicopter Display Team, along with a host of other military and civilian aircraft.
More displays are due to be announced in the coming weeks.advertisement

The festival takes place from August 28 to 31 and coincides with British Tourism Week. It will attract tens of thousands of visitors and involve hundreds of local businesses and organisations. The main sponsor is More Bus.
Head of tourism for Bournemouth, Mark Smith, told the Echo: "It is the biggest ever event staged in Bournemouth and the first time a festival of this type has been staged in the UK.

"It will be one of the peak weeks of the year and a perfect example of where the economy works with local people. It will be a good excuse to get into party mood and will appeal to all age groups.
"It's building on the work we've done with the Red Arrows in the past - taking something good and making it fantastic."
Spokesman for Visit Britain, Stuart Barrow, added: "Bournemouth is leading the way in 21st century tourism."
